Administrative / biographical background

The Electrical Research Division was formed in 1963 with its headquarters at Marylebone with operations at Willesden and Rugby when the Research Department took over the Electrical Research Group founded by the Chief Electrical Engineer in 1956. The division was dissolved in the re-organisation of 1972.
