Shows hamlet boundaries, buildings (named), chapels, schools, town hall, assembly rooms, gaol, museum, house of industry, infirmary, market place, lookout, postern, burial ground, woods, named roads, toll house, tram road, waterbodies, reservoir, canal with wharfs, antiquities (castle). Some foreshore features depicted; sand hills, quays, ferry, jetty, land for harbour improvements, high and low water marks. Industrial land-use: mills, flint mill, pottery, patent slip, coal and timber yards, slaughter houses, quarries, gas works, ballast heaps. Scale: 1 inch to 8 chains; lithographed enlargement of town at 1 inch to 2 chains [1:1584]
