Description

Tithe map of Brighton (parish), Sussex (tithable parts only). Shows buildings (named), palace, hotels, crescents, burial ground, racecourse, race stand, woods, boundary markers, named roads, railways, railway terminus, goods line, waterbodies, antiquities (castle). Industrial land-use: steam saw mills. Colouring used. Scale: 1 inch to 4 chains; 69 separate small plans of cowhouses, the only remaining tithable property, at 1 inch to 50 feet [1:600]. The distance in feet of each cowhouse to the street corner is given
