Description

Tithe map of Gillingham (parish), Kent. Shows boundary in centre of River Medway, buildings (named), chapel, tower, fort, barracks, ramparts, wash-house yard, stile, footpath and/or bridleway, named roads, marsh (coloured), waterbodies. Colouring used. Scale: 1 inch to 3 chains. First class map. Construction lines shown. One part by George Darbyshire and George C Darbyshire, Brompton, 1838; second part by John and George C Darbyshire, Brompton, 1839.

With 10 altered apportionment maps. 1] Dated 12 December 1861, at 1 inch to 3 chains. 2] Dated 28 November 1864, showing London Chatham and Dover Railway. 3] Dated 15 November 1883, at 1 inch to 3 chains, showing Brompton Barracks, St Mary's Barracks and convict prison. 4] Dated 31 March 1887, at 1 inch to chains, showing London Chatham and Dover Railway and Dockyard Railway. 5] Dated 30 March 1897, at 1:2500, showing London Chatham and Dover Railway. 6] Dated 31 December 1901. 7] Dated 25 September 1907; Ordnance Survey map Kent sheet XIX.16. 8] Dated 23 September 1909, at 1:2500. 9] Dated 1 September 1927. 10] Dated 31 March 1930, at 1:2500.
