Shows farms (named), lodge, landownership, hedge ownership, fences, field gates, parkland, allotments, woods, footpath and/or bridleway, railway and railway depot, hill-drawing, waterbodies, weirs, bridges (named), sandbanks, quays, reservoir, embankment. Named roads; turnpike roads distinguished; toll bars. Industrial land-use: mines, quarries, sal ammoniac factory, alkali factory and bleach ground, steel furnace, forge and foundry, coke factory, coal staiths, bone mill, corn mills, fire brick factories, clay works, lime kiln. Relicts of industrial land-use: old pit. Colouring used. Scale: 1 inch to 4 chains. Map is noted as 'surveyed by, and partly taken from old surveys by Thomas Bell, Newcastle'
