Description

Tithe map of Chesterfield, Brimington, Hasland, Newbold, Tapton, Temple Normanton and Walton (townships in the parish of Chesterfield), Derbyshire. Shows buildings (named), vicarage, house of correction, workhouse, market place, bowling green, orchards, open fields, parkland, plantations, woods, named roads, railway and station, tramway, footpath and/or bridleway, waterbodies, bridges, canal and wharf, reservoir. Industrial land-use: malthouse, iron foundry. Colouring used. Part 1 is of Chesterfield borough; part 2 is of Newbold township; part 3 is of Brimington township; part 4 is of Tapton township; part 5 is of Hasland township; part 6 is of Walton township; part 7 is of Temple Normanton township. Scale: 1 inch to 6 chains; part 1 is at 1 inch to 2 chains [1:1584]; part 3 has an enlargement of Brimington town at 1 inch to 6 chains [1:2376]; part 4 is of Tapton township at 1 inch to 5 chains [1:3960] with enlargements of open fields at 1 inch to 2 chains [1:1584]; part 5 has an enlargement of the village at 1 inch to 3 chains [1:2376].
