Description

Tithe map of Whitehaven (township in the parish of St Bees), Cumberland. Shows buildings (named), church, marine school, meeting house, workhouse, hot baths, lodge, market places, waterbodies, antiquities (castle) and castle gardens, harbour, old and new quays, piers, jetties, steps to buildings and in harbour. Named roads; turnpike roads distinguished. Industrial land-use: granary yard, manufactories, patent slip, ship building yard, ore yard, timber slip. Scale: 1 inch to 1 chain
