Turnpike roads distinguished; toll bar. Industrial land-use: factory, mines, quarry (slate). Decorative features. Scale: 1 inch to 4.36 chains or 3 Cheshire chains [i.e. of 32 yards each]. Note that map was taken from an original map belonging to the Earl of Derby, 'revised and corrected'
