Named roads: turnpike roads distinguished; toll house. Industrial land-use: tan pits, print works, mills, pumphouse. Colouring used. Scale: 1 inch to 3 chains. By John Taylor, Ollerset near Stockport. Map 'copied from a map belonging to the Guardians of the Stockport Union which was tested by the commissioners in the year 1842' [The 1842 map is at Stockport Archives]
