These are books of sealings, 1801-1849, which provide a daily record of sealings, and by whom carried out, at the Exchequer Seal Office, and the fees they attracted according to their nature: they are categorised generally as warrants, quo [warranto]s, hab[eas] corp[us], and so on, and the number sealed on a given day is supplied. There is little more specific information. Additions of the fees appear on every page, and the distribution of fees between the Chancellor the Exchequer and the Chief Usher is noticed separately.
For an earlier sealings book, see E 197/35
