These are books of messengers' and ushers' bills, arranged yearly, 1825-1849. The messengers of the Exchequer and the Treasury sent in their individual travel expense claims, itemised as to destinations, though the nature of the errand is not specified: delivery of process was doubtless the most frequent. Ushers' bills of necessary expenses, to keep the Court clean and furnished and supplied with paper, as well as their customary fees, were submitted each legal term to be paid by the chief usher.
