Description

No. 21 Maintenance Unit, Fauld: photographic record (album) of surface and underground destruction resulting from explosion on 27 Nov. 1944, with plans of the area.

Includes 284 photographs depicting: Explosion at RAF Fauld, Staffs: aerial views of craters and damage over a widespread area; interior views of Fauld mine and armaments stored therein. (See also AIR 2/ 6966, 6967; AIR 17/8, 12; HO 186/2772, 2773). Dated 1944-1945.
