The activity of the Special Operations Executive in Norway consisted principally in the sabotage of targets of military-economic value to the Germans; in aiding the MILORG underground organisation; and in assisting in propaganda operations to undermine German morale. Of the many SOE operations in Norway, GUNNERSIDE, the destruction of the heavy water plant at Vemork, was the most important.
