Description

Folios 254-255: Thomas Williams, Sea Fencibles, Stokes Bay, Gosport. Is sending a certificate for Elijah Duffin concerning an injury received while on a ship under his command. Asks for the man to be taken into Greenwich Hospital as he cannot walk or stand.

Folio 255a: Enclosure in folios 254-255. Certificate from John Browning, Surgeon, South Stoneham, Southampton, 15th January 1806. Certifying that Elijah Duffin is residing in this parish and is incapable of walking or standing due to an injury received by a fall from the rigging on HMS Vulcan. He has been discarded from Haslar Hospital as incurable.
