Folios 244-245: Robert Williams, HMS Alert, Yarmouth Roads. Lieutenant Thomas Pepwell, appointed to join the ship, has not yet joined as he was subpoenaed to appear before the King's Bench. Lieutenant James Knight is too weak, from an illness, for any exertion. Asks for Lieutenant James Dillon, late of HMS Elephant, to be appointed as he served with him in the war and knows him well.
