Folios 375-376: Thomas Walbeoff, [Regulating Captain], Poole. Having received orders in the letter of 22 May 1805 to send to Granville for four seamen he had information of, asks whether the Admiralty will allow mileage for the distance of 17 miles, as his instructions limit mileage to 10 miles unless he has specific orders for a greater distance. Lieutenant J Lucas did not think he was equal to travelling that distance on foot and so hired a single horse chaise, enclosed Lieutenant Lucas' letter on this subject.
Folios 377-378: enclosure with folios 375-376. Letter from Lieutenant J Lucas, Poole Rendezvous, to Captain Thomas Walbeoff, Regulating Officers at Poole, dated 9 May 1805. As ordered he went to Gunville on 3 May1805 with two Midshipmen and seven men, and since the distance was 17 miles he hired a single horse chaise for 20 shillings, asks to be reimbursed.
