Folios 335-336: Thomas Walbeoff, [Regulating Captain], Poole. Reports he received information about three seamen secreted at Wareham, but when he sent Lieutenant Lucas with a party to impress them in a public house, a large party of Wareham Volunteers arrived, attacked the press gang and rescued the three men. He asked Colonel Jeffrey, commanding the Wareham Volunteers, to parade his troops and identified William Sarson and John Tuck as having been active in the rescue. Asks if he can charge for his carriage hire to Wareham, and says Colonel Jeffrey and Captain Bartlet gave him every support.
