Captured ship: St Vincent of Brest (master Claude Riouallen of Le Conquet, otherwise Rouallen; prize master David Derrickson of Rotterdam).
History: a French merchant ship (30 tons, 7 men when retaken), bound from Bordeaux to Calais, laden with French wines and prunes; taken on 17/27 January 1672/1673 off the Isle of Basse [Ile de Batz, Brittany], by the 17-gun Dutch privateer Prince William[otherwise Prins Willem] of Flushing (Bowden Johnson commanding, otherwise Boudewijn Joannissen) and sent in for Flushing, but was forced by contrary winds and shortage of provisions (after 8 days in possession of the prize) into the entrance of Plymouth Sound at Cawsand and was taken there at anchor by Mr Collier of Plymouth and brought into Plymouth [otherwise said to have been run ashore there]. The privateer removed some of the ships papers and other documents.
