Folios 429-430: Isaac Wolley, HMS Gelykheid, Hawke Roads. Is enclosing a copy of a letter from Captain Richardson together with a copy of his reply.
Folios 431-432: enclosure with folios 429-430. Letter dated 10 July 1804 by William Richardson, HMS Adelphi, Grimsby Roads to Isaac Wolley, HMS Gelykheid, Hawke Roads. Request that, as he is about to take charge of a convoy, the state of the guns be examined as on trying them, they are improperly fitted and useless after the first fire. The ship is therefore not equal to the task of leading a convoy.
Folio 433: enclosure with folios 429-430. Letter dated 11 July 1804 by Isaac Wolley, HMS Gelykheid to William Richardson, HMS Adelphi, Grimsby Roads. States that in a previous communication Captain Richardson confirmed that HMS Adelphi was fit for service. Further that it has been fitted in the same manner as HMS Mercator whose Captain advises that he has no problem with his guns and proceeding with the convoy.
