Folios 337-338: John Wright, HMS Swift, Deptford. Request to appoint Lieutenant James [Prate?] to HMS Swift.
Folios 339-340: enclosure with folios 337-338. John Wright, HMS Swift, Deptford, 13 August 1804 to the Admiralty. HMS Swift was commissioned on 11 August. Has received instructions for her to be manned with 70 men, and to be fitted and provisioned for Channel service. Having taken on men and provisions, to proceed to Long Reach to take on guns and gunners stiores, and then to proceed to the Nore and await further orders. Has no men on board at present and cannot proceed without assistance.
