Folios 253-254: William Wooldridge, HMS Scourge, the Nore. Encloses a letter from Thomas Durand[t], cook of HMS Scourge, stating that his payment as acting Boatswain requires Admiralty approval. It is nearly 3 years since [??] and Mr. Henry Baker of Number 2 New Inn, Strand, has already made an application on this subject enclosing his acting orders. Requests he is paid accordingly.
Folio 255: enclosure with folios 254-255. Thomas Durant, Cook, HMS Scourge, to Captain Wooldridge, 22 February 1804. His acting order as Boatswain of HMS Driver was sent some time ago to the Admiralty by Mr. Henry Baker of 2 New Inn, Strand, London, requesting an order for payment of wages due, having been superceded 2 years ago and accounts passed to Somerset House some time ago. Requests an order for payment.
