Folios 246-247: Daniel Woodriff, HMS Calcutta, Portsmouth Harbour. Encloses an anonymous letter relating to a deserter from his ship. The deserter's details are given on the reverse page. Requests that the deserter is apprehended and returned. Deserter's details: Samuel Porter, age 28, ran 4 October 1804, height 5ft 9 1/2ins, blue eyes, short light brown hair, married, lives in Stone Stafford [Stony Stratford?]. Birth mark on right side of face.
Folio 248: enclosure with folios 246-247. Captain Woodrooffe [Woodriff], HMS Calcutta. Reports that Samuel Porter, who was on HMS Calcutta is now going weekly from Stokeplane near Fenny Stratford to London with one of the canal boats. He is in London once a week.
