Folios 242-243: Daniel Woddriff, HMS Calcutta, Portsmouth Harbour. Has recieved the letter of 6 October, confirming that Officers will be appointed to the current vacancies, and that Lieutenant Ridge has been appointed in place of Lieutenant Bailey. Lieutenant Ridge is senior to the Calcutta's present First Lieutenant, who has been with Captain Wooriff on previous voyages and is a most valuable and deserving officer, who he would wish to continue as First Lieutenant.
