Folios 220-221: Daniel Woodriff, Admiralty Office, Portsmouth. Has learnt from Admiral Montague that his letter of 23 July, together with his journal of the voyage of his ship, has not been received. He closed his journal as soon as possible after anchoring at Spithead and reported to the Admiral, then proceeded to the Commissioners with the box containing everything related to the Admiralty, and the ship's books, from there to be forwarded to the relevant offices. He has just returned from the Commissioners to ask about the delay and has been infoormed that there is only one coach employed to carry dispatches.
