Folios 282-283: Robert Winthrop, HMS Ardent, Cawsand Bay. Reports that several fore and aft bolts of the iron trees on board HMS Ardent have become detached during a gale at sea. He has sent 5 of them to the Admiralty for inspection as they should be 20 inches long and shows the poor practices carried out in the building of the ship.
