Folios 278-279: Robert Winthrop, HMS Ardent, Beer Haven, Devon. Reports that 5 men deserted from HMS Ardent in a boat taken from the ship on the night of Nov 6 1803., one being Thomas Lewis, a Boatswain's Mate, who enticed the others to abscond with him. They sailed from Cove, Cork a few days later in the Mary brigantine, bound for Liverpool. Requests that all steps be taken to apprehend the men.
