Folios 247-248: [Sir] Thomas Williams, HMS Neptune at sea. Reports that Peter Rolt, apprentice to his father, James Rolt, Shipwright, was impressed into service from the Lord Gardner, East Indiaman at Plymouth and is now on board the HMS Neptune having received a bounty of 5 pounds.
Folio 249: enclosure with folios 247-248. Affidavit sworn on 4 July 1804 by James Rolt at the Thames Police Office before John Marriott. Affidavit states that his son, Peter Rolt, an apprentice by indenture dated September 1800, was impressed into service from the Lord Gardner, East Indiaman at Plymouth and is now detained on board HMS Neptune. Further that he is no seaman.
Folios 250-251: enclosure with folios 247-248. Petition dated 5 July 1804 by James Holt. Shipwright of Poplar, stating that Peter Rolt eloped 17 months previously and went on board the Lord Gardner, East Indiaman, and on his return home was impressed into HMS Neptune.
