Captured ship: St Thomas of Copenhagen (master Hanse Johnson of Flensburg, otherwise Jens Hanssen)
History: a Danish-Norwegian merchant ship (galliot hoy, 100-120 tons/50 lasts, built at Enkenfeere [Eckernförde], Ducal Holstein; owners [Christian V], King of Denmark-Norway, and a company of St Thomas island [Danish Africa Company]), bound from Elsinore to St Thomas island [Danish Africa Company, later the Danish West India Company], laden with beef, pork, brandy, beer and distilled waters consigned to Yeurgen Neverson [Jørgen Iversen Dyppel], Governor of St Thomas, Danish West Indies; taken on 28 January/7 February 1673/1674 between Spithead and St Helen's by HMS Hopeful Margaret dogger (John Robinson commanding) and brought into Portsmouth.
