Description

Captured ship: St Theresa of Bruges (master Peter Baert of Nieuwpoort)

History: a Flemish (Spanish Netherlands) merchant ship (100-120 tons, built in the Dutch Republic, bought at Middelburg), bound from Bayonne to Ostend, laden with wine; suspected to be Dutch; taken on 20/30 June 1673 about 4-7 leagues off Portland by HMS Hunter (George Colt commanding) and brought into Plymouth.

Court Papers, numbered CP 1-2:-

  • [CP 1]: standing interrogatories;
  • [CP 2]: five examinations taken at Plymouth, 28 June 1673.
