Captured ship: Phoenix of Boston (master Henry Wey of Boston, Massachusetts).
History: a New England merchant ship (pink), bound from the Potomac, Maryland, to Boston, 'New England', laden with Virginia tobacco and dry cow hides; taken in mid-May 1673 by the Dutch privateer [Lands Welvaren (or Nation's Prosperity) of Flushing, Cornelis Lijncoert commanding] in mid-May, and sent in for [Flushing?]; retaken after 11 days by the two remaining members of the original crew, and brought into Baffin Haven, Ireland.
