Folios 224-225: James Wallis, HMS Naiad, Hamoaze. Asks for Hugh Montgomery, Master's Mate, who passed for a Lieutenant, to be appointed to one of the vacancies. He has surved with him on HMS Proserpine, HMS Decade and HMS Brunswick. He kept a Lieutenant's watch on the first ship with skill and capability when she was cast away at the Elbe's entrance and saved the Ambassador's despatches by carrying them over the ice.
