Folios 157-158: Thomas Wallbeoff [Regulating Captain] Poole. Responding to the request for information concerning John Elliot. He had been at sea before becoming apprenticed and has been sent to HMS Puissant without his Master making an application on his behalf. Elliot returned to Poole and was taken up as a deserter and having no discharge, he was sent aboard the Royal William. Wallbeoff mentions that he has been in the impress service since the last war and complains of the treatment he received from Mr. Carter the applicant.
Folios 159-160: enclosure with folios 157-158. Letter dated 17 December 1803 by [?] to the Admiralty. Encloses [[not present] John Elliot's Apprenticeship indenture in order he is discharged from the impress.
