Captured ship: Mayboom or Meiboom of Amsterdam (master Huybert Johnson [or John Rasier]).
History: a Dutch merchant ship ([200 tons]), [bound from the West Indies to Amsterdam], [laden with campeche wood, logwood, sugar, elephants' teeth, cotton, indigo, copper, ginger and silver, at least 4000 pieces of eight in 7 hogsheads]; taken in [late] March 1672 by HMS Newcastle (Anthony Langstone commanding) and brought into Plymouth.
Allegation, 19 April 1672, in Langstone v The Mayboom. (Specifies date of declaration of war, 28 March 1672, but gives no exact date other than ship was taken in March 1672.)
