Captured ship: Dolphin of Stockholm (master John Johnson de Old Boere of Amsterdam, citizen of Stockholm, otherwise Jan Janss de Oude Boer).
History: a Swedish merchant ship (171 lasts, 8 guns, 30 crew and passengers, including 4 women, built by Mr Skelton at Stockholm the previous year [1671]), bound from Amsterdam and the Texel to Stockholm, laden with lemons, Holland cheese, green cheese, pickled herrings, currants, wine, tobacco, prunes and other goods (soap, paint, pump leathers) on the account of the Royal Swedish navy; taken on [31] July/10 August 1672 between the Vlie and the Texel by HMS Mermaid (John Temple commanding), and brought into Harwich on 5/15 August 1672.
