Captured ship: Santa Maria of Nieuwpoort (master Cornelis Wackernee of Dunkirk, otherwise Wackernye, Wackerney).
History: a Flemish (Spanish Netherlands) merchant ship (galliot, originally armed with 2 guns and 4 swivels, 9 men, built in the Dutch Republic), bound from Nieuwpoort to Sunderland, in ballast; came into port at Sunderland on 31 December 1673/10 January 1674 and there seized. Boarded en route to Sunderland by 2 unnamed Dutch privateers, which took out the 2 guns and 3 of the swivels, small arms, as well as her pass and bill of sale.
