Folios 217-218: George Wolfe, HMS Aigle, the Downs. Ordered by William Cornwallis to sail to Oporto, he captured a French privateer L'Alerte, Bernard Benjamin Bizard, Commander, off Vigo, having been 65days from Bordeaux. She had previously taken the Hat, Stephen Cumming, Master sailing from Lisbon to Newfoundland, the Swift, James Collenette, Guernsey, the Lord Sheffield, Thomas Lock, Master sailing from Trinidad to London and engaged with a brig and a cutter. 5 wounded prisoners have been sent on shore to the care of the French Consul at Oporto.
