Description

Folios 306-307: James Wallis, HMS Naiad, Plymouth. Is sending a document from Mr. Mauay, US Consul in Liverpool concerning a man impressed and sent in HMS Rambler from Liverpool claiming to be a citizen of the United States of America.

Folios 308-309: enclosure with folios 306-307. Letter dated 16 April 1803 by W Marsden, The Admiralty Office, to James Wallis. Mr. Erving, the American Consul has applied for the discharge of Isaac Vanblaiken, detained on HMS Naiad. Asks for documents supporting the claim of American citizenship.
