Folios 279-280: James Wallis, HMS Naiad, Liverpool. There are 95 pressed Men on board and 9 Volunteers now that Apprentices verified by the Mayor and Magistrate have been discharged. The Officers and boats are employed day and night. Since the impress started, no ships have sailed. He considers that he has the authority to impress men from outward bound in addition to homeward bound unless he has orders to the contrary. Mentions the benefit of using a small vessel, the Reverence cutter belonging to the port would be useful.
