Encloses a petition stating he was brought to town from Plymouth by mistake of an appointment being sent to him which was intended for another Officer of the same name. Asking for reimbursement of his expenses incurred.
Folio 228: Enclosure with folios 226-227: Petition from Robert Williams c/o Messrs Marsh, Page and Creed, Agents, London, late Commander of HMS Selby. Explains how he received a commission for HMS Dryad intended for another Robert Williams, a Post Captain, and discovered it was not for himself. Requests reimbursement of his expenses incurred travelling to Milford.
