Description

Folios 180-181: Ommanney and Druce (agents), Cecil Street, London. Encloses a commission from Rear Admiral Sir John Thomas Duckworth appointing Henry Whitby, Acting Captain of HMS Porcupine, dated 29 June 1802, in place of Andrew Fitzherbert Evans who removed to the Aeolus in lieu of John William Spranger who was invalided.

Folios 182-183: enclosure with folios 180-181. Copy of a commission dated 29 June 1802 from Rear Admiral Sir John Thomas Duckworth, Commander in Chief, Port Royal Jamaica, appointing Henry Whitby, Commander of HMS Pelican, to be Acting Captain of HMS Pelican.
