Description

Folios 153-154: Thomas Western, HMS Tamer, Plymouth Sound. Has arrived from Martinique via Bermuda with Artillery men and encloses a copy of his orders and his journals.

Folios 155-156: enclosure with folios 153-154. Copy orders from Robert Stopford, Commander in Chief, the Leeward Islands, HMS Magnificent, Fort Royal Bay, Martinique. . To make for England with Artillery men and invalids from the Naval Hospital, Antigua. Having supplied water casks from the Tamer for the transport ships, he is at liberty to call at Bermuda for fresh water and to take a a packet for the Governor there from HMS Excellent in Prince Ruperts Bay.

Folio 157: enclosure with folios 153-154. Embarkation return of Artillery personnel and civilians at Martinique.

Folios 158-159: enclosure with folios 153-154. Letter dated 3 August 1802 from James Athol Wood, HMS Acasta. Portsmouth requesting 10 days leave to go to town to answer the questions in the enclosed petition.

Folios 160-161: enclosure with folios 153-154. A petition dated 29 July 1802 from Philip R Bearcroft, James Chapman and John Wilson with a schedule of questions to James Athol Wood, Commander of HMS Favourite, concerning the capture of the Brothers schooner, William Thompson, Master, in the West Indies in 1795.
