Description

Captured ship: Lucretia of Flushing (commander Garrett Anderissen, otherwise Gerrit Andriessen).

History: a Dutch privateer (11 guns, 57 men, formerly an English prize taken by a Flushing privateer, Johnson Spaniard commanding, and brought into Bilbao [before 3/13 December 1672]), now bound from Bilbao on a cruise; taken in fight on 28 March/7 April 1673 by HMS Pearl ([John] Ashbury commanding) and brought into Falmouth.

  • [CP 1]: three depositions taken at Falmouth, 23 April 1673;

Ships Paper, numbered SP 1:-

  • SP 1: (fragment of) privateericommission, issued in the name of Willem, Prince of Orange [date (3 December [1672]) is missing, annotations are badly damaged and only semi-legible].
