Captured ship: King David of Amsterdam, otherwise Roy David or Rey David (master Marcus Johnson Holder, otherwise Marcus Jeansen, Mark Johnsen, Marcos Juan).
History: a Dutch merchant ship ([pink], 25 lasts, 5-6 prisoners when brought in), bound from Garachico, Tenerife for Amsterdam, laden with wine; taken in March/April 1672 west of the Isle of Wight, by HMS Quaker ketch (William Flawes commanding) and brought into Portsmouth on [25 March/4 April or] 26 March/5 April 1672. The crew all ran away on 27 March/6 April 1672 and could not be examined.

Ships Papers:- see HCA 30/1068 for three ship's papers and over 100 letters from Tenerife for onward delivery, in Spanish, French, and Dutch; 2 further ship's papers; reports on condition of cargo.
