Captured ship: St Joseph (prize master Andries Michielsen of Amsterdam).
History: a French merchant ship (80 tons) bound from the French Caribbean to Europe, laden with sugar; taken in May or June 1673 off Guadeloupe by the Dutch warship Noord-Holland (Admiral Jacob Binckes [or Benckes], Amsterdam admiralty, commanding) and sent in for Amsterdam; retaken on 28 September/8 October 1673 off Beachy Head by the privateer Revenge (John Aden commanding) and brought into Dover.
