Captured ship: St John of Bergen, otherwise St John of Glasgow (master Joos Betulla otherwise George Tullough, prize master Anthony Peterson of Flushing, otherwise Antonijs Pieterse).
History: a Scottish merchant ship (80 tons, 6 prize crew; built in the Dutch Republic), bound from Glasgow, Scotland via Dublin, Ireland to Nantes, laden in Glasgow with dry herring, pickled herring, salmon and butter; taken on 11/21 February 1673/4 about one mile off Ushant by two Dutch privateers, one of 10 guns, the other the 8-gun Tergoose [Ter Goes] of Flushing (Vlissingen) (David van Hesdall commanding), and sent in for Flushing; retaken on 12/22 February 1673/4 by HMS Mary Rose (Thomas Hamilton commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
