Captured ship: St John Baptist of Ostend (master Joseph Regnard of Ostend, otherwise Joost Reinar).
History: A Flemish (Spanish Netherlands) merchant ship (ketch, 70 tons, 9 men, built in England, bought at Middelburg about 9 weeks earlier), bound from Ostend to Leith or Berwick, in ballast; taken on 9/19 October 1673 on the Lowestoft fishing grounds by HMS Portsmouth pink (Thomas Binning or Bynning commanding) and brought into Great Yarmouth.
