Folios 296-297: Thomas Wolley, HMS Arethusa, Aubin's Bay, Jersey. Having received no orders or directions for my conduct but those communicated by telegraph which were to go to Jersey for the protection of that island, and remain till further orders. I have not felt at liberty to leave. Your letter of the 21 July 1800 not giving any directions I shall in consequence venture to cruise in the neighbourhood.
