Folios 279-280: Thomas Wolley, HMS Arethusa, Spithead. Reports sailing from the Rock of Lisbon on the 22 December 1799 with 11 sail under my convoy followed by an American Frigate. Reports that gales starting on the 25 December 1799 which blew till the 2 January 1800 dispersed the convoy which he was unable to collect them so has returned to this port instead of the Downs and has suffered damage.
