Folios 257-258: Charles Wollaston, HMS Cruizer, Yarmouth Roads. Reports his arrival yesterday from a cruise between the Elbe & Heligoland as per orders of Captain Charles Boyles of HMS Raisonnable dated 18 August 1800. During this time I detained 2 large ships with Masters from Riga bound to Embden [Emden] under Prussian Colors [Colours] which I have every reason to suppose is Dutch Property one of which and I have brought in with me and the other arrived here a few days ago, besides the having manned 2 other prizes has reduced my compliment so as to oblige me to return to Port to receive my men and land my prisoners. I understand by the examination of the Captain of the first ship, that he has confessed she belongs to Holland and that the property is only covered by a Mr Bowman of Embden.
