Folios 223-224: Josiah Wittman, HMS La Suffisante, Liverpool. Reports his arrival last evening to take on board 2 new raised men from HMS Actaeon I found that a fever was among them and that Captain Peter Spicer of HMS Reynard [Renard] had returned. I have therefore given directions to Captain Philip Hue of HMS Actaeon to have the men carefully examined by the Surgeon and not to send any ill men to the fleet for fear of spreading the fever.
